More speed cameras wuold cut Clydesdale accident statistics
CLYDESDALE Chief Inspector Colin Murphy believes more speed cameras would cut the number of serious injuries sustained on local roads.
Figures released by Strathclyde Police show that from 2007 to 2009 there was an average decrease of 54 per cent in all injury crashes where cameras were installed as well as an average decrease of 56 per cent in fatal or serious injury crashes at the locations.
The subject of cameras has split motorists but Chief Inspector Murphy believes cameras and better driver training would help cut the number of injuries sustained on the roads.
