Mother concerned at state of Carluke skatepark

CARLUKE mum Nicola Hall is deeply concerned at the vandalised state of the skatepark in Glenafeoch Road.

And she told the Gazette she feared it may only be a matter of time before its "horrendous" condition could lead to a child being seriously hurt.

Nicola's three-year-old daughter Sophie cut her left hand on a metal spike protruding from security bars bordering the skatepark in an accident this week.

She said her wee one was lucky to escape with relatively minor injuries.

''Sophie fell off her bike and was caught by a metal spike near the ground,'' said the worried mum.

"Although the cut was fairly deep, Sophie was fortunate that she didn't get an eye taken out.

"She could easily have been blinded."
