Motherwell drivers top list of phone offenders

The Motherwell postcode area is the worst in Britain for drivers using their mobile phone while behind the wheel, according to new data.

More drivers in Motherwell area are being caught using phones than anywhere elese in Britain.

Offenders get three penalty points and figures obtained by vehicle price comparison specialist Car Keys show that 3.29 per cent of motorists in this area currently have the offence on their licence.

The Glasgow postcode area (2.59 per cent) is the second worst offender and, in fact, Scotland fills the top eight spots in the British list, based on DVLA data.
