Mouse about the house

Lanarkshire’s branch of the Scottish SPCA is urging Cumbernauld and Kilsyth rodent lovers to consider rehoming some of the many pet mice in their care.

Staff at the charity’s Lanarkshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre are currently looking after 32 adult and baby mice, and would-be owners are being invited along to meet them.

Centre manager Peter Fleming said:“Ideally we’d like our mice to be rehomed in small same-sex groups or pairs as they are sociable creatures who enjoy the company of their own kind.

“Some of our mice are confident and easy to handle while we have others who are in need of more human interaction to help them feel more comfortable.

“With regular contact from their owners we have no doubt they’ll make great pets and provide their owners with hours of fun.

“We’d love to hear from anyone who can give some of our mice the second chances they deserve.””

Anyone interested in acquiring a pet mouse can call 03000 999 999 and ask to be connected to the Lanarkshire centre.
