MP Gregg’s in good company

LOCAL MP Gregg McClymont was afforded an enjoyable saunter down memory lane recently as he returned to his old Boys’ Brigade Company the 2nd Cumbernauld as their special guest of honour.

The former Cumbernauld High School pupil joined more than 100 spectators in Kildrum Church as the boys of the 2nd Cumbernauld Company were put through their paces by Captain Bill Stirling and his officers.

The MP was also tasked with inspecting the company and handed out the prizes at the annual display and awards ceremony.

The display showcased a variety of talents from the boys, including very impressive marching from all sections, as well as some dancing and acting.

Mr McClymont told the News and Chronicle: “It was a delight to return to the 2nd Cumbernauld.

“It felt like I had never been away. I enjoyed seeing all of the new faces in the company, as well as some old ones!”

Company Captain Bill Stirling said: “It was great to have Gregg return to his old Company and to be able to show him how the good work of the Boys’ Brigade has continued over the years.”
