MP Michael McCann shaves Movember moustache

LOCAL MP Michael McCann has joined thousands of ‘Mo Bros’ across the UK by letting his (facial) hair down during Movember to help change the face of men’s health.

Michael, the MP for East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow, gave his top lip a month-long razor rest to grow and groom a moustache as part of Movember, to help raise awareness and funds for men’s health issues.

Movember - which aims to ‘change the face of men’s health, one moustache at a time’ - has chosen Prostate Cancer UK as its principal partner and beneficiary for funds raised in the UK. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. It is almost as common - and deadly - for men as breast cancer is for women.

Michael said: “I was proud to be able to do my bit for this great cause.

“At first it looked as if my moustache would resemble more of a cat’s whisker, but eventually it took on a life of its own and grew quite respectably. This was my first Movember but it won’t be my last.”
