Murder attmpt probe

CUMBERNAULD Police have confirmed that they are investigating an attempted murder in Kildrum.

Rumours that a young man had passed away following an incident in Clouden Road have been circulated on a social networking site.

Comments stated that the victim had fallen into a coma and had died. However, the News and Chronicle has learned that this is NOT the case.

Police say they are looking into an incident which took place last Thursday (December 15) when a 19-year-old was targeted by two males aged 19 and 20.

Officers say that it is not thought that weapons were involved but the victim was rushed to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

As a result, these two alleged attackers have been arrested and charged in relation to this incident.

Witnesses are still being sought and anyone with further information is asked to contact Cumbernauld Police on 503900.
