New Carluke Health Centre is not key to good health
However, one doctor moving into the new building believes the centre will not resolve the area's health issues — that responsibility lies with local people.
Dr Alec Workman (61) is a partner at the High Mill Practice and has been helping patients for the past 35 years.

Dr Workman said: "The health centre is a first class building and I'm really looking forward to working there.
"I know the doctors, nurses and administrative staff can't wait to get started.

"If we all work towards individual lifestyle changes then it will benefit the community's health as a whole."
