New Kype Muir Windfarm could bring financial benefits to Lesmahagow

A NEW windfarm development, near Strathaven, is one step closer to being given the go-ahead - and it could bring huge financial benefits to Lesmahagow.

South Lanarkshire Council’s planning committee has confirmed that the council has no objection to the Kype Muir windfarm, submitted by Banks Renewables.

The application is now in the hands of the Scottish Government and, if it is successful, Lesmahagow could be in line for a share of £8.9 million over the next 25 years.
