New Maggie’s Centre backed by Monty in Lanarkshire

A NEW Maggie’s Centre will be built in Lanarkshire thanks to £3.5 million being raised by the Elizabeth Montgomerie Foundation to fund this and another centre in Aberdeen.

The Lanarkshire Centre, to be built on the grounds of Monklands General Hospital in Airdrie, will provide a programme of practical and emotional care to people with cancer and their families. It will be named after Scots golf ace Colin Montgomerie’s late mother, Elizabeth.

Colin said: “I am so proud that my Foundation has generated the funds required to commence building of the much required centres.”
