New Rigside Primary report notes huge improvements

A follow-up HMI report on Rigside Primary has found that the school has made huge improvements in the last two years.

A report published in March 2009 found that the school was weak in a number of key areas and that pupils were behind in a range of different areas.

However, the new report, by inspector Peter Gollogly, has seen improvements in attainment, learning and the school’s sense of direction.

Rigside Primary headteacher Marion Thomson said: “The recent HMI report is the result of hard work and dedication of all the staff at Rigside Primary School and we are delighted that the follow through report reflected the positive journey undertaken by staff, pupils and parents as we work together to enhance the educational provision for all children.”
