Residents can ask to be referred to the North Lanarkshire Mediation Service.

Margaret Lynch, the director of the Scottish Mediation Network said: “Mediations can be conducted out of normal office hours, and this should make it easier for residents in North Lanarkshire to resolve disputes. There is no need to take a day off work to attend court- and no need to go to court at all. If both parties are willing to consider mediation, it is possible in almost all cases to reach an amicable agreement.”
