Newton Mearns jewellers' 45 years of success praised in The Scottish Parliament

Shop owners Eric and Yvonne Smith have recently announced their retirement with the store to close in April 2018 after 45 years of serving the local community and Scotland more widely.

Eastwood MSP Jackson Carlaw tabled a motion in The Scottish Parliament motion highlighted the store’s impressive reputation for providing high quality jewellery and wished Eric and Yvonne a well-deserved retirement.

Commenting Mr Carlaw said: “I was very sad when I learned that Eric and Yvonne are to retire.

“Eric N Smith has become a pillar of the community in Newton Mearns and built up a formidable reputation for providing customers with the highest quality of jewellery and service of anywhere in Scotland.

“Eric, Yvonne and their highly skilled staff should be proud of all their achievements over a formidable 45 years in the business.”
