Nominate a local hero for Queen’s Awards

Renfrewshire lord lieutenant Guy Clark is calling on East Ren residents to nominate local individuals and voluntary groups for the 2016 Queen’s Awards.

The award recognises those who make exceptional contributions to their communities.

Mr Clark, the Queen’s representative in East Renfrewshire, said: “We in the Renfrewshire lieutenancy have gained the most awards in Scotland, which demonstrates the depth of the volunteer spirit in the area.

“If you know of any deserving groups in East Renfrewshire, please get your nomination in by Sep 18”

Nominations are also open for the British Empire medal - awarded recently to East Ren residents Eleanor Bremner and Rena McGuire.
