Nursery registration deadline approaches

All children ages three and four are entitled to a free nursery place for either five mornings or five afternoons per week.

Morning and afternoon sessions are allocated by ballot, and apply for the next two years.

Any parent whose child will turn three or four between March 1 this year and February 28 next year should contact the education service on 577 3288 or email [email protected] for an application form - to be in by Friday (February 28).

Councillor Paul O’Kane, vice convener for education and equalities, said: “Our nurseries and family centres provide children with a great start.

“I’d encourage parents to contact our education service and apply, if you haven’t done so already.”
