Old Lanark Grammar School set for demolition

THE much-loved old Lanark Grammar School building is now certainly doomed – but pledges have been given that an eyesore won’t replace it.

As reported in the Gazette, the fate of the 105-year-old main building in Albany Drive has been the subject of a Save Our School campaign by ex-pupils since it was closed to be replaced by a new Grammar building in 2009.

However, the old school’s new owner, Muse Developments, stated this week that there was no way in which it could save the building.
