On the run

A CUMBERNAULD husband and wife are set to run from London to Glasgow in aid of four great charities.

Sean and Sian Casey from Blackwood, are taking part in the Square2Square run to raise cash for Crohn’s and Colitis UK, McMillan Cancer Support, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and SANDS.

Sean (43), a retail manager for Bon Marche, will join with his wife and a group of runners and will run from Trafalgar Square in London to George Square in Glasgow.

He said: “This is quite a daunting task but we’re all in it together. My daughter was stillborn and since then Sian and I have been raising money for SANDS.

“The other runners all have personal links with the charities too so it’s an important run. Customers in Bon Marche can donate £1 to guess how many steps it will take us from London to Glasgow. We’re taking a pedometer with us and we’re asking people to get involved in donating”
