A politician has raised concerns about local rail services after discovering that only one in four trains travelling to Milngavie arrive on time.

Neil Bibby said: “Most passengers appreciate that there are times when disruption just can’t be avoided but the people of Milngavie should not have to tolerate services that arrive late more than they ever arrive on time. The number of delays on local trains is unacceptable and so I have called on the SNP Government to explain exactly what will be done to tackle delays and improve reliability.

“Services into Milngavie are nowhere near good enough and that is why there must now be a specific, clear and robust improvement plan for the route.”
