Only ‘Scott’ in running for Fiji reality TV show

An ambitious life coach is one step closer to taking part in a social experiment on a remote island in Fiji, set to be aired as a reality TV show.

Scott Hay (42), from Bishopbriggs, was selected as one of 50 finalists, from 3,500 applicants all over the world, and is the only Scottish contestant left in the running for ‘This is your life change.’

The paradise island of Vororvoro in the South Pacific will host six entrepreneurs with ideas on how to change the world.

Scott said: “To be selected as one of the semi-finalists is amazing in itself and shows how much my ‘secret dream’ resonates with people.

“However, being in the last 50 isn’t enough, I’m really focused on being selected as one of the final six who will go to Fiji.”

Participants will spend two weeks being put through their paces by a personal trainer, life change catalyst and business expert who will coach them on how to succeed back in the real world.

They will get up early to swim and workout. They will even have to climb to the top of coconut trees.

Scott learned of his status as a finalist at 2.30am when results were posted online.

He said: “My wife was asleep at the time. You’ve no idea how difficult it was to keep quiet when I saw my name on the list!”

As a life coach, Scott’s focus is on helping young people make the best of themselves and is in the process of setting up a social enterprise, to help those who are vulnerable or disadvantaged.
