Operation Myriad is declared a huge success

IT’S not been a happy fortnight for Clydesdale’s crooks.

And nobody could be happier at the uncomfortable time they’ve been having than the area’s acting police commander, Inspector Scott Jones.

He has been heading up the local effort in Strathclyde Police’s Operation Myriad, a crackdown on crime that, as its name suggests, targets just about every form of lawbreaking you could imagine.

An example of this came on Thursday when those arriving to do business at Lanark Agricultrual Centre found a police taskforce at the entrance, checking goods coming in for sale to ensure they weren’t stolen and even inspecting the contents of wallets to detect any money `laundering’.
