We love Jack Vettriano here and we are proud to support many local artists such as Tom McDonald, Brendon Lochrie, Peter Sim and Margaret Maxwell to name a few.

2. What to you like best about living in your area?

Kilsyth people are always friendly and there is a real sense of support for our new business from locals.

Meet new artists who can open our eyes to something a bit different from what’s on view. We want the gallery to stay fresh so that every time a customer returns they see something they instantly love.

4. What advice would you give to your younger self?

I started my own wedding car hire business many years ago and sold it. I now wish that I had thought to open a gallery back then!

5. Name three people living or dead you would most like to meet.

Freddie Mercury, Billy Connolly and Andy Murray.

6.What do you think is the most over-rated aspect of modern life?

I think children are given too many material things when all they need is your time.

7. For you what’s the difference between existing and living?

I always try to surround myself with friends, family and children so that I’m never lonely and we always encourage people on their own to come to our house to spend time with us.

8. Recommend a book you think our readers would enjoy.

My favourite read is ‘The Secret’ by Rhonda Byrne. It reminds me to stay positive in everything I do.

9 What do you prize above everything?

I enjoy being successful in anything I try but the secret is to ask yourself if what you are doing makes you happy? If the answer is no then you must change it.

10. What motto do you live your life by?

I read something that Billy Connolly had written and it kind of summed up how I felt when I read it…..’Life is supposed to be fun. It’s not a job or occupation - we’re here only once and we should have a bit of a laugh!
