Mystery buyer snaps up neglected Cumbernauld Village building

A HISTORICAL building which was left to go to rack and ruin in Cumbernauld Village has been sold at auction for DOUBLE its expected price.

It is understood that no fewer than SIX bidders fough to snap up Ardenlea House – and that the former library was sold for a five-figure sum.

Mystery surrounds the buyer and there was no confirmation that he or she attended the auction in person. Yet their successful bid to acquire the property should ideally end years of dilapidation.
