The 20km (12.5 mile) walk is from Twechar to Grangemouth, along the Forth and Clyde canal, on Sunday, May 6.

Over the last 14 years, more than £350,000 has been raised by groups and individuals who took part.

A spokesman for the Rotary Club of Cumbernauld said: “We all know how difficult it is to raise money for good causes, but the club can offer you an excellent, healthy and fun way to do just that.”

The walk is set to start from Twechar at 8.30am, with buses leaving from Cumbernauld College at 8am to take participants to Twechar. The event finishes at Grangemouth Sea Marina, with transport available to bring walkers back to Cumbernauld. Walkers can take part for £5 per person.
