SETTING up your own business could make 2012 your best year yet.

Figures show that the first few months of the year are one of the busiest times for Business Gateway as more people take the leap and turn their idea into a new venture.

Budding entrepreneurs can take advantage of a range of free services from Business Gateway Lanarkshire. These include free evening workshops throughout January and February in Atrium Business Centre, Coatbridge, covering topics such as market research, writing a business plan and financial record keeping.

Entrepreneurs in Cumbernauld can also book a one-to-one appointment with a start-up adviser. Appointments, on the first Wednesday of the month, are held in Cumbernauld College, and must be booked in advance by calling 01236 702020.
