Thieves broke into Abbeyfield House, in Springburn, and stole alcohol, food and a special cake, which had been bought to celebrate the care home’s 10th birthday on Wednesday morning (May 30).
It’s believed they got into the building by pulling out a window.

Care home manager Alison Paton said: “It’s crazy and it almost seems spiteful. I don’t understand why anyone would do such a horrible thing.
“The residents, relatives and people that came to the party were disgusted that anybody would stoop so low.
“The things that were taken are not even of great value, but the fact is that this is a place for older and vulnerable people and they invaded their space.

“Most people in the community would be really appalled to know that someone would do this.”
The break-in took place between 6.30am and 7am on Wednesday, May 30.
Anyone with information about the theft can contact Baird Street Police Office on 0141 532 4100 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
