Pension strike to hit schools and hospitals

Parents have been warned that schools may be closed next Wednesday as teachers join other public sector workers in a one-day strike over pension changes.

And hospitals are expecting to run the equivalent of a Sunday service as health staff join the protest.

The day of action is a national one, backed by the TUC, the STUC and large unions such as Unison and the teachers’ union the EIS, over pension changes planned by the Government.
