A little bit of sparkle at Family Festival

People came out in their droves despite the wet weather and the event had a little visitor from Pollokshields – 4-year-old Sophie Brandie.

Sophie joined the Unicorn Dance Party, who added some extra sparkle and bubbles to The Bridge Family Festival day.

Packed with activities there was a free roller disco, free balloon modelling, free face painting, live music, children’s activities, sports tasters and community stalls.

There was also a stage area in the Platform café bar with performances from various groups, street theatre performances, local bands, songs from the Platform Singers choir and highland dancers.

Jenny Crowe, Arts Manager for Platform, the organisers of the festivals, said: “We had a fantastic turnout from people all over the city for The Bridge festival on Sunday and were delighted to see so many families out enjoying themselves. There was a jam packed programme of activities taking place at both festivals with something for all ages to get involved in.

“We’d like to thank everyone who worked with us to make the festival happen, from our supporters and partners to our team and all of the community groups and individuals involved.”

The Bridge Family Festival Day was supported by Platform, Glasgow City Council, Cashback for Creativity, Glasgow Kelvin College and Glasgow Life.
