Allander Rotary Club's seaworthy young winners celebrate
The winners of Allander Rotary’s recent boat building competition are pictured – from left, Jacob Sixsmith (Aesthetic Design), Aiden Thompson( Engineering Design) and Rory Campbell (Race).
The judge praised Aiden’s engineering design as “simple but effective”, based on two floats joined with a simple deck. He made a special mention that Rory’s boat, the race winner, was the only entry with a keel. In the aesthetics, he said Jacob’s boat was “an excellent model.”
Club President Stuart Sharkie said: “Well done to all the participants (and adult helpers!). Everyone seemed to enjoy taking part. I hope we can run the competition again next year’.
