He said: “As Scouts we are always trying to make an impact in our community and taking part in events that help and support others.

“This Christmas is going to more challenging for many families and the Christmas Present Appeal felt like a great way of the Beavers and Cubs to bring some festive joy to those less fortunate.”

Beaver Scout Holly Hornal (7) said: “All children should get a present at Christmas. I like being able to help other people because it is a kind thing to do. I did a reverse advent calendar for our foodbank and I liked doing this too.”

Cub Scout Logan Hornal (10) added: “I liked being part of this collection because part of our Cub promise is to help other people. Some children might not get a gift this year because of coronavirus so it’s important to help if you can.”
