Course is no obstacle for pupils

Balmalloch Primary in Kilsyth is celebrating the opening of its new Trim Trail.

The keep-fit obstacle course was built thanks to funding from the National Lottery Awards For All programme, along with the school’s Parent-Teacher Association and Stonehouse Church.

A school spokeswoman said: “We held the launch on Commonwealth Day’s Wear Your Trainers to Work/School Day.”

The course includes various features such as climbing frames, rope wall, monkey bars, a moving barrel and stepping stones. And it has gone down a storm with the children.

The spokeswoman added: “The children are having great fun with it. All the classes get to take a turn on it as they are given access on a rota basis.”
