Darnley Court open day was a work of art

A successful open day was held at Darnley Court Care Home, Nitshill Rd, Glasgow.

The venture raised £607 which will help towards residents’ outings and activities within the home.

A Darnley Court spokesman said: “The day was very successful and we had a piper, raffles, tombolla (all donated and run by Sainsbury’s), face painting, live singing, a bouncy castle, food, cake stall (all donated and run by Sainsbury’s) and many other kids and bric-a-brack stalls. Some of the stalls were from community sellers. All prizes were donated by staff, local business and residents family members.”

In addition, Councillor Ashid Hussain helped judge the Scottish art work competition with the winning prize going to pupils from St Bernard’s primary school.

The spokesman added: “We have had great support from out local Darnley Sainsbury’s and they helped contribute to making it a memorable day.”
