The popular music venue, cafe bar and restaurant – based on Pollokshaws Road – is looking to raise £40,000 for essential repairs.

And their fundraising campaign has been supported by Deacon Blue, who will play one of only two shows lined up in the UK this year at the Glad Cafe on Sunday, September 15.

Tickets are priced £100 each, and will go on sale at 9am on Tuesday, May 7.

All profits will go to the Glad Cafe’s Raise the Roof campaign, launched to meet the cost of repairs to the roof of the venue’s B-listed Camphill Gate tenement.

Deacon Blue lead singer tweeted: “The Glad Cafe is very close to our hearts, it’s a place we often go to eat, drink and see music with friends, and it needs help to make sure the place is still standing to support new artists.

“Young artists and their fans need small venues to nurture them and with your help the Glad Cafe will have a great future.”

Tickets will be available via Music Glue
