Police Scotland have confirmed the body of a man was found in the River Clyde near Pointhouse Place, Glasgow, around 1.30pm today (Saturday, 2 May).

Joseph was last seen around midnight just before going to bed at his home in Kirkoswald Road. He was not in the house on the following morning and his family contacted police and reported him missing.

As part of ongoing enquiries to locate Joseph, officers reviewed CCTV footage and there was evidence to suggest he may have entered the River Clyde at the King George V Bridge.

Police divers searched the area, but Joseph was not been found at that time.

However, the body now recovered is believed to be that of Joseph Duffy.

There does not appear to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
