Further steps now being taken to preserve Palacerigg mural created by Alasdair Gray
A mural which was painted at the now defunct Palacerigg Visitors Centre by the late Alasdair Gray is moving a step further to being fully protected and preserved after a pledge from Historic Environment Scotland.
The Cumbernauld News has learned that the organisation will undertake an assessment of the artwork later this month with a view to safeguarding its future by effectively listing it
The cutting-edged mural with its futuristic look was originally commissioned by park founder David Stephen and painted by the famed Glasgow artist and writer in 1974 – where a rural setting is depicted near an industrial landscape, in a tribute to Cumbernauld.
