It's a marathon task for dad

A dad who's son suffered a cardiac arrest following open heart surgery - aged six days old, has raised nearly £12,000 for charity.

Jonathan and Nicola Haggerty’s son Tom was born on November 24, 2015 with severe and life threatening heart defects.

He spent six days in Neonatal Intensive Care before being rushed into surgery for his 11-hour operation.

Thankfully he pulled through - despite the cardiac arrest - and dad Jonathan started his fundraising for the British Heart Foundation and Glasgow Childrens Hospital Charity, where Tom was treated.

So far he’s raised just over £8,000 from a charity ceilidh and is set to run the London Marathon on April 23. Jonathan’s JustGiving fundraising page already has donations totalling £3412.89.

If you can spare a little, no matter how small a donation it might be, you can help Jonathan by popping over to the page and drop a couple of punds in the kitty at: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/jonathanhaggarty.
