We looked through our picture archive and found some of the best from the ‘60s, when boxing legend Muhammad Ali, singer Cliff Richard and actor Sir Laurence Olivier spent time in the city.
And it was not just famous faces from the entertainment world who visited Glasgow.
Former Prime Ministers, Harold Wilson and Edward Heath – the latter yet to take the top job at the time of his visit – both came to the city.
