Pedestrian (95) dies after being struck by vehicle in Glasgow’s Southside

Police in Glasgow are appealing for witnesses after a 95-year-old woman died as a result of a road traffic collision in the city.

The incident happened around 5pm on Thursday, 31 October, when a red Mazda car collided with a pedestrian on Aikenhead Road, near Cathcart Road.

The 95-year-old pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and Aikenhead Road was closed for around four hours.

Sergeant Jon Mochan, of Govan road policing unit, said: “We have already spoken to a number of people who witnessed the incident however we are appealing to anyone we haven’t spoken to and who witnessed this to please contact us.

“The area would’ve been busy at that time and if any pedestrians or drivers saw this incident or have dash cam footage, contact us.”
