Police ‘no nearer’ to tracing missing Govan man Tom Graham

Police Scotland officers investigating the disappearance of a man from Govan say they are still no nearer tracing him after just over a year now.

Tom Graham, then 30 years-of-age, was reported missing on 26 November 2018 by his sister Sarah.

The last reported sighting of him was on 27 October 2018 in Edinbeg Place in Toryglen.

While it was not unusual for Tom not to be in what could be described as regular contact with his family, it is now over a year since anyone in the family has heard from him.

Extensive inquiries have been carried out by Police Scotland, including a stop and interview operation in the Toryglen area of Glasgow, some three months after he was last seen.

The operation included a visit to Toryglen by Tom’s sister Sarah, who handed out missing person leaflets in an attempt to raise awareness about his disappearance.

Tom is described as being around 6ft tall, of medium/muscular build and he has several distinctive tattoos, including the name ‘Sophie’ on the right side of his neck, a black panther on his right calf and a tattoo on his right forearm.

Tom’s sister, Sarah Graham said: “Tom’s family miss him and I would appeal for Tom, or anyone with information as to his whereabouts to contact either police or his family.”

Govan Area Commander, Chief Inspector Shaheen Baber said: “in just over a year now Tom’s family have had no contact from him whatsoever. I can only imagine how concerned they all are for Tom’s safety.

“To go this length of time without any contact with your family is not common, and I would appeal to Tom, or indeed anyone who may know of his whereabouts or what’s happened to Tom to get in touch with us through the 101 number, quoting number 1844 of 26 November 2018.

“Our investigation into Tom’s whereabouts will remain open and we will continue to liaise with and support Tom’s family.”
