Remembrance Parade in Newton Mearns cancelled

Newton Mearns and District Royal British Legion Scotland regret that following advice and risk assessments, there will sadly be no remembrance parade this year.

Since the formation of the branch in 1946 this will be the first cancellation of a Remembrance Parade in the district.

Covid-19 restrictions allowing, a small ceremony and wreath laying will take place at the Newton Mearns Cenotaph restricted to RBLS representatives from 10.50am until 11.10 am on Sunday, November 8.

No members of the general public are to enter service area during this time.

Any members of the public who wish to lay a tribute throughout the day are requested to apply social distancing and follow all governmental Covid-19 advice.
