Request from Irish museum aimed at older readers who spent childhood holidays in Donegal

The links between Ireland and the families who emigrated to the North Lanarkshire area has sparked an unusual special request from a museum in the ancestral county of many -Donegal.

It is aimed in particular at older readers who may have spent childhood holidays in the land where their parents were born. Niall McCaughan, Manager of Donegal Heritage Railway Museum stated: “We are looking to trace people who had a direct experience of the railway before their final closure in 1959. These first-hand stories from the general public need to be recorded in writing, before they are lost forever.”
