Shawlands six-year-old Harry McNeill wins national Boys’ Brigade talent contest

A six-year-old Boys’ Brigade member from the Southside has proved he’s got talent after winning a national competition.

Harry McNeill, a member of the 45th Glasgow Boys’ Brigade Anchor Boys based at Shawlands Trinity Church, clinched first place in the Boys’ Brigade UK & ROI National Talent Competition.

The competition was held In April with children and their families from around the UK encouraged to take part and send their videos to the Boys’ Brigade.

There were five categories, four for the boys and one for the leaders, and Harry gained first place in the youngest age group (Anchors 5-8 Years).

This competition is part of the wider BB@home online platform that the Boys’ Brigade has created to keep in touch with boys.

BB@home is full of activities that families can get involved with in their home and garden.

It is open to members and non members of the Boys’ Brigade. New activities are posted weekly at Boys’ Brigade BB@Home

Also reaching the final of the talent contest were Netherlee duo, James and Thomas, of the 278th Glasgow Boys’ Brigade, who were second in the groups category.
