Stay away from anti-lockdown gathering in Glasgow’s Queen’s Park, warn police

Protest group UK Freedom Movement has planned events across the UK, including a number in Scotland, encouraging people to be ‘part of the largest mass gathering since lockdown’.

Posters have been circulating on social media encouraging the gatherings which are due to take place on Saturday.

But Police Scotland are telling the public not to attend the events.

A police spokesman said: “We have been made aware of these events and would strongly urge people not to take part in this.

“Public gatherings of more than two people, with limited exceptions, are prohibited.”

The UK Freedom Movement publicity urges people to “say no to the coronavirus bill, no to mandatory vaccines, no to the new normal and no to the unlawful lockdown”.
