Woman found dying at Newton Mearns bus stop

Police officers were called to Harvie Avenue after a 46-year-old woman was found slumped on the pavement at 7.15am on Tuesday, October 15.

The woman was then rushed to hospital, but sadly later died.

A police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland was made aware of concern for an 46-year-old woman found in a bus stop on Harvie Avenue in Newton Mearns around 7.15am on Tuesday, 15 October.

“The woman was taken to Hairmyres Hospital where she later died. Her death is being treated as unexplained, although there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.

“Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
