Plans lodged for new cemetery on Common Good land at Springbank Farm, Lanark

A NEW cemetery for Lanark is one step closer after South Lanarkshire Council formally submitted a planning application to create a new graveyard at Springbank Farm.

The new site, which would initially cater for 1731 lairs, is located beside the former Winston Barracks and would be built on existing agricultural land – held within the Lanark Common Good Fund – should the application be passed.

It would also provide 76 car parking spaces with an additional nine spaces for disabled drivers.
