Plans to build homes on site of Headspoint Nursery in Braidwood are granted in principle

PLANS to build homes on the site of a popular garden centre have been granted planning permission in principle by South Lanarkshire Council.

The decision to give the go-ahead for the as-yet unspecified number of houses at Headspoint Nursery raises question marks as to how much longer the nursery and garden centre, which has an ever-popular tearoom, will remain in business.

When plans were first lodged with the council in January of this year, the Gazette asked Headspoint owner Pete Baxendale about the possibility of the garden centre closing.
