Platinum pair celebrate seven decades of marriage

A HAPPILY married Bishopbriggs couple have shown their love has stood the test of time after celebrating a sensational 70 years together.

May (89) and Bill (91) Wilson marked their platinum wedding anniversary recently.

The couple met at a party in Knightswood and were married in Partick Baptist Church in 1942.

Bill was a flight mechanic in the Air Force and May would often take up jobs wherever he was stationed.

The couple have a son Alan and daughter Lesley, and three grandchildren.

Bill says the secret to their success is “give and take”.
