Police hunt arsonists after wilful fire-raising at house

Police are hunting for arsonists after a wilful fire-raising at a house at Bishopbriggs.

Emergency services were called out to the vicinity of Kenmure Drive around 9.15pm on Sunday.

The house, which was under construction on a building site, had been deliberately set alight, said officers.

Detective Steven Gault of Kirkintilloch CID added: “Our enquiries have revealed two men were seen leaving the building site and then running down Kenmure Drive.

“We have also spoken to witnesses who said a group of four or five male teenagers were seen hanging around the corner of Kenmure Drive and Kenmure Avenue around 8.30pm on the Sunday evening.

“I urge these teenagers to contact police immediately as they could provide information that could assist our investigation.”
