Police increase patrols to tackle youth disorder in Clachan of Campsie

Police have launched a crackdown on youth disorder at a well-known beauty spot.

Complaints have been made about young people drinking in Clachan of Campsie.

The latest incident took place on Sunday, May 26.

Police have now stepped up their patrols in the area.

Inspector Donald Leitch said: “Clachan of Campsie is an idyllic village at the foot of the Campsie Hills, where residents and tourists alike enjoy the peace and beautiful surroundings.

“We will not tolerate this being used as a venue for youth disorder and drinking, and we will be taking firm action with those attending there for those purposes.

“We actively encourage local residents to contact us should they wish to report any incidents.”
