There has been speculation a car was also involved in the crash.

A resident living nearby was woken by the noise of the crash.
Nicole Smith said: “I heard an alarm so got up to check if it was my car. Great news no one has been seriously injured.”
Police said the driver’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening and there were no passengers on the bus.

No one was in the Sun Shack tanning salon, which is opposite Farmfoods and there is not believed to be any major structural damage to the building. The Herald understands a lamp-post took the brunt of the collision before the bus hit the salon.

Traffic quickly built up after the accident, with commuters making their way to work.
A police spokesperson told the Herald that Townhead was now open to traffic but as at 9.15am, Freeland Place was still closed while emergency vehicles inspected the scene.
She added that investigations were continuing into the cause of the crash.
