Police keen to trace missing man Sean

Police are appealing for help in an effort to trace a 24-year-old man missing from Coatbridge since Monday (10 October).

Sean McKenna (24) of Teviot Street, Coatbridge, was last since leaving his friend’s house in Derwent Drive, Coatbridge, around 3am on Monday morning.

He is described as white, 6 ft 2 in height, of medium build, with short black hair, brown eyes and stubble. Details of his clothing are not known.

Sergeant Ross Aitken, Coatbridge Police Office, said: “We know that after leaving his pal’s house in Derwent Drive, Sean went home but headed back out again a short time later. Where to at this time, we don’t know.

“Although we don’t believe he had any money with him when he went back out, he did have his phone. He had been trying to call a couple of friends to go back out socialising with him between 3am and 5am but as far as we are aware, he didn’t meet anyone and he has not used his phone since.

“We have managed to track down a couple of pals he spoke to on Monday morning but they have not seen or heard from him since.

“He is usually very active on social media and keeps in close contact with his family, so to be out of touch for this length of time is very concerning.

“Officers are currently speaking to friends and family as well as checking CCTV in the area to try and find him. Specialist search officers have also been searching in Drumpellier Park but so far no trace.

“I would ask that anyone with information about where Sean is contact officers at Coatbridge Police Office via 101. I would also appeal to Sean himself to get in touch as his family as very upset and worried that he has been away and out of touch for so long.”
